Join Bike Burlington as they renew an annual RAGBRAI training ride tradition that Leroy Bickel started years ago! Taking place of this year's Mississippi River Ride, enjoy a scenic 60-mile bike ride from Burlington, IA to Lacey Keosauqua State Park. The route will consistent of flat Iowa countryside, rolling hills, and a few steep climbs to get those legs in shape! Riders will be invited to camp in the park that evening and enjoy a cookout (&/or meal in town). The Lacey Keosauqua State Park has great showers and a nice lake to swim in. Bickel's will provide a van to haul gear and coolers.

Time: 8a.m. Saturday from Bickel's / 8a.m. Sunday from Lacey Keosauqua State Park


  • Saturday - Ride to West Point, take J 40 across HWY 218 to Bonaparte, Bentonsport (nice museum of Indian artifacts), across old bridge to Vernon, Route 1 to Lacey State Park. 
  • Sunday - Ride North out of Lacey State Park, take HWY 16 East to Hillsboro, Salem (good ice cream stop at Sinclair station!), East to Pickle Church, through Lake Geode State Park, home to Burlington (there's a Casey's in Middletown for refueling if needed).
