I used the Hammer in conjunction with online riding programs, and could not be happier with the results. The road like feel and smooth, but noticeable resistance changes with the slightest elevation change on my computer made indoor training fun and effective. The noise level is quiet enough that it did not wake my kids sleeping in the room next to the trainer when I had to ride late in the evening. Resistance changes were very smooth and increased to the point I had to shift into granny gear on some extreme climbs. Setup is as easy as changing a cassette and replacing a skewer. I connected an ANT dongle and streamed the virtual ride to my TV for a more enjoyable ride. The trainer was very stable during sprints and folded up easily enough to fit in the closet when company visited and we needed the extra space. Using the Hammer definitely helped my outdoor riding this spring, and I can't wait to see what I can do after a full winter of riding with this machine!

Excellent trainer! I've had many different brands and types of trainers. This is by far my favorite smart trainer I've owned. Fewer wires, easy to set up, easy to travel with despite it's weight.

          Comments:

The setup for this is only slightly more difficult than the wahoo kickr, but that is where my preference for the kickr ends. Side by side the noise difference between the kickr and hammer is nearly indistinguishable, but the interesting thing is that the hammer doesn't seem to vibrate the floor beneath it as much as the kickr. I could run this unit upstairs in the morning and (probably) not wake up anyone else in the house. The road feeling on the hammer is superior to the kickr as well. With the kickr if you stop pedaling during an interval it feels like you have to sprint in order to get the flywheel moving again. The hammer smoothly brings you back to the target wattage. And lastly (for this review) the hammer just feels more solid than the kickr. I'm not afraid to get out of the saddle and push some big watts while in the hammer. The kickr on the other hand feels a bit more flimsy. Really happy with this purchase.

              Comments:

My first smart trainer and chose the Hammer over the Kickr based on reviews of both. It's pretty quiet, but I don't live in an apartment, so it's not and issue. I've read the Kickr can be loud. The set up is easy and found that it "likes" the ANT+ connection better that Bluetooth when it comes to my PC. Just my experience. It talked to my iPad via Bluetooth without a problem. The road feel is pretty good, but there is no such thing a coasting downhill! The resistance eases up, but you still have to pedal. Just the way it is. It comes with a bunch of training profiles and video rides. Just rode around a section of Iceland the other day. Pretty cool. I'll follow up with more as I ride it more. My primary reason for buying it was to do hill work and intervals.
