12:1 Run

Back in 2008, the inaugural 12:1 Run was held. Since then, this 5K, 10K & 15K run/walk & half marathon has become USATF certified, gaining wide recognition as a well-organized, family-friendly event.

Why run?! All the proceeds are directed to the Hays Pure Water for All Foundation, which was founded in Washington, IA. The foundation offers simple, affordable chlorine generators that are both portable & permanent. These disinfectant units are capable of providing for as many as 5,000 people for 5 years, helping to save lives by making drinking water safe & creating a better quality of life for all around the world.

Since 2008, the 12:1 Run has been able to donate over $137,500 to the Compassions Ministry at Harmony Bible Church for the purchase of Hays Pure Water filtration units. 430 units have been deployed in 20 different countries. That means that potentially 2.1 million people around the world now have clean water to drink.
